Town Center at Disney Springs – Retail and Shopping Hub

Disney Springs is an exciting, new waterfront district for world-class shopping, unique dining, and high-quality entertainment at Walt Disney World Resort. Located along the shores of Lake Buena Vista, Disney Springs is undergoing its largest expansion in history. Inspired by Florida’s waterfront towns and natural beauty, Disney Springs has four distinct outdoor neighborhoods: The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and Town Center, all interconnected by a flowing spring and vibrant lakefront. Completion of Disney Springs is set for summer 2016. Disney Springs is located at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Todd Anderson, photographer)

Whenever I visit Walt Disney World, I have to spend at least one day at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). I love the shopping, the food, the atmosphere, the free parking…

By the end of summer 2016, Disney Springs will have even more to offer guests! Town Center, the latest Disney Springs neighborhood to be announced, will offer more than 30 new locations for shopping and dining.

Town Center will primarily be a retail destination, but as everyone gets hungry while shopping, the neighborhood will also offer several new dining options.

Restaurants and new eateries will include Sprinkles Cupcakes (offering an all-day cupcake ATM) ,Blaze Pizza (fast fire’d, customized artisanal pizzas), Amorette’s Patisserie (featuring petit cakes and dome cakes), and D-Luxe Burger (great for burger and milkshake lovers). These additions sound like great options for guests who are looking for casual dining and take-and-go snacks.

For true culinary aficionados two new restaurants, both by James Beard Award-Winning Chefs, will be making their own debut. Homecoming: Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine, a farm-to-table concept by Chef Art Smith, and Tablas Frontera, with exquisitely crafted Mexican cuisine by Chef Rick Bayless. I love Mexican cuisine so I am very excited to give this new restaurant a try!

Once Town Center has opened, the amount of shops and restaurants available at Disney Springs will have doubled. Can you believe that not so long ago we were still calling this area Downtown Disney? And not so long before that we were still calling it Pleasure Island?!

I cannot wait to visit Town Center and the rest of Disney Springs on my next trip to Disney later this year! Are you looking forward to the new shopping and dining experiences that are being offered? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
