Top 5 Adult Attractions at Epcot

Test Track

Hi my name is Monica and I make adult only trips to Walt Disney World. Oh, and I’m proud of it! Disney is the place where I can be a kid again without looking like a lunatic and I am happy to skip through the parks wearing my ear hat.

This is the second post in my series of top 5 adult attractions at each Walt Disney World park and today we are covering Epcot.

Epcot is a park where the future of technology and the culture of yesterday come together in one harmonious story. As a kid, Epcot was kind of boring to me as I was not yet able to fully grasp the concepts and ideas presented. As an adult, Epcot inspires my imagination and makes me feel hopefully for a brighter future.

Here are my top 5 Adult Attractions at Epcot

Living with the Land: Whether you are interested in horticulture, consider yourself a foodie, or just find behind the scenes Disney information interesting, Living with the Land is for you. Board your vessel and sail through the greenhouses of the Land Pavilion on a boat tour that takes you behind the scenes of Disney food production. From innovative growth methods to Mickey shaped produce you are sure to see something here that you have never seen before. If you want to know more about Living with the Land, consider the Behind the Seeds Tour.

The Land

Test Track: This is an attraction that appeals to both children and adults. Create your own custom car design and see how it performs on the Test Track. As you design remember to keep these criteria in mind: capability, responsiveness, efficiency, and power. Speed through straight-aways, slide through bad weather and road conditions, and maneuver curves and hills on this mile long track. Peak speeds hit about 65 miles per hour and guests must be at least 40 inches in order to ride.

Soarin’: Do you want to experience the thrill of hang gliding without the risk of, well, dying? Soarin’ is a high flying adventure through California’s most iconic landscapes. Feel the wind in your hair, smell the ocean and orange groves, and receive a one of a kid bird’s eye view. Soarin’ will soon receive an update to include more locations and views. Guest must be at least 40 inches in order to ride.

Spaceship Earth: Located within the iconic geosphere, Spaceship Earth takes you on a journey through the past, present, and future to show how communication has evolved and continues to expand. Narrated by Dame Judy Dench, this classic attraction is must-do each time I visit Epcot!

Mission Space: Experience authentic NASA-style training on this shuttle launch simulator. Mission Space is available in two different intensity levels: green and orange. I’m a big wimp and simulators do not always agree with me, so I have only ever experienced the green level. However, for the more daring, level Orange uses a centrifuge that spins and tilts to simulate speed and G-forces during launch and re-entry. Guests must be at least 44 inches to ride.

Epcot has something for everyone. From children to adults, Epcot continues to inspire and spark our imaginations as it looks toward the future of innovation.
