Great news fashion fans! A new apparel and accessories collection is making its way to Walt Disney World at the end of March. The Dress Shop, which was created by Disney Parks Merchandise, is a vintage shopping dream come to true!
Merchandiser Donna Sorrow recently spoke on The Disney Parks blog about the new store:
“We designed The Dress Shop collection for guests who want to emulate their favorite Disney characters or theme park attractions in a fun, retro way,” explained Donna. “These items aren’t costumes, rather the collection contains perfect outfits for guests who have a passion for Disney style.”
The Dress Shop collection has been in the works for over a year, and as you can see, the designs are clearly inspired by vintage and nostalgic trends.
“The dress styles are classic in design and contain incredible little details,” continued Donna. “Yet all the styles have modern fits which make them wonderful outfits to wear when visiting Disney Parks.”
Seriously, these dresses are perfect for any Disneybound, Dapper Day, or walk in the park. I am just loving the A-line skirts and vintage necklines. The outfits are inspired by Disney attractions and characters included Minnie Mouse (clearly seen in the polka dot dress). You will also find nods to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, “it’s a small world,” The Haunted Mansion, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
The Disney Parks blog also provided this sneak peak of an Orange Bird design. This pattern would be perfect for a summer trip to Disney!
The Dress Shop collection will also feature matching accessories such as handbags and hats. In the picture, you can see an apple purse and a Hollywood Tower Hotel hat and suitcase. The entire collection will launch on March 31. Guests can find the new designs at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs. Select items from this collection will also be released on March 31 at Vault 28 in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. There will be a limited time offering of select items from the new collection beginning mid-April in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort.
To celebrate the launch, look for special activities that day and throughout the weekend, including a trunk show of vintage-inspired apparel.
The only bad news: the collection will not be available via the Shop Disney Parks app or the Disney Park online store at the time of the launch. However, that doesn’t mean that the designs won’t be released later on. Just make sure to keep a look out!
