Star Wars has solidified itself as a pop-culture phenomenon that crosses generations to bring families and fans together. From the films, to the fashion, to the conventions, and now to Disney World – Stars Wars is here to stay!
In the last several years, as Disney has partnered with Lucas Films, Walt Disney World had become a hub of Star Wars mania. If you are traveling with a Star Wars fan, young or young at heart, this post will guide you through Disney World in a quest for the best Star Wars themed experiences.
Visiting the Parks
Here I will break down my favorite activities for Star Wars lovers at each park. While this is most definitely not a completely inclusive list, this should provide a great starting point for planning your park days.
All the Star Wars Action is concentrated to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Really, if you are a Star Wars fan, this is where you are going to want to spend the bulk of your time.
Meet Your Favorite Star Wars Characters – Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, and Stormtroopers. Yep! You can meet them all at Hollywood Studios.

Star Wars Launch Bay – Check out movie props, play games, snap photos, screen videos, and greet Star Wars heroes and villains. Star Wars: Path of the Jedi – Located in Echo Lake, this 10-minute retelling of the Star Wars saga compiles movie moments and hints at what’s yet to come.
Star Wars Launch Bay Theater – Located in Animation Courtyard, here you can watch a behind-the-scenes video that shows what goes into making Star Wars come to life on screen.

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away – Located in Hollywood Boulevard, here your favorite characters take the stage! Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, BB-8, Darth Maul and more recreate famous movie scenes.
Star Tours – The Adventures Continues – This thrilling simulator ride is different every time you visit. Multiple story combinations create a unique experience during each blast off. Join C3-PO and other Star Wars favorites for a daring adventure. Note: Guests Must Be 40in (102cm) or taller to ride.
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular – Opening June 17, 2016!

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple – Watch younglings train in the ways of the Force and put their skills to the test against the Dark Side—including a new villain!
“Jedi Knights have assembled Force-sensitive children from throughout the galaxy to test their abilities. Under the tutelage of the Jedi, the recruits learn how to use the Force—and their wit—to wield lightsabers. Now that the Empire has driven the Jedi to the distant corners of the galaxy, the training must proceed in secret at ancient Jedi temples.
But not even this precaution can shield the Jedi from the evil forces of the Dark Side for long. Younglings who wish to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple must register before the show. You must be between 4 and 12 years of age to participate.
Please register at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost located between the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! and the 50’s Prime Time Café.
Registration begins when Disney’s Hollywood Studios opens for the day. All participants must be present at the time of registration.

While there is no speficially licensed Star Wars entertainment available at Magic Kingdom, you can still have galactic fun!
- Space Mountain – it may not be completely Star Wars, but it is still a thrilling journey through space.
- Stitch’s Great Escape – a rogue alien from another galaxy? Sounds like something a Star Wars fan could be into.
Similar to the Magic Kingdom, there are no specific Star Wars Attractions here. However, Future World is all about technology and exploration.
- Mission Space – Prepare for your galactic journey and experience authentic NASA-style training and an out-of-this-world space launch on this shuttle simulator.
- Mission Space Advanced Training Lab – after your trip to Mars on Mission Space, spend some time in the Advanced Training Lab to further your galactic skills!
- Mission SPACE Race – It’s astronauts versus ground control in a race to see who can send their rocket from Mars to Earth first. Up to 56 cadets can play at once. Whose team are you on?
- Expedition Mars – You’ve got 4 minutes to use a joystick and jet-pack button to explore the surface of Mars and find your 4 fellow astronauts. Good luck, cadets
- Space Base – Junior space explorers will be inspired to reach for the stars and crawl into wormholes on this fun interactive playground.
- Postcards from Space – Create and e-mail a video postcard—starring you—to anyone in the universe you please.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
If you are only after daring space adventure, then sadly, Animal Kingdom is not the park for you. While the addition of AVATAR land will provide some reaches into space, there are currently no comparable events or attractions for the Star Wars themed trip we are after.
